Where it started
A promise older than most of our customers
In 1964, Evelyn Margolis opened a Hawaiian clothing boutique in Hilo — the roots of the company that became Hilo Hattie, named for beloved entertainer Clarissa “Hilo Hattie” Haili. Today her family is still at the helm: Josh and Heidi Margolis, Evelyn's grandson and granddaughter-in-law, now lead the company — carrying the same local, cut-and-sew tradition forward, more than 60 years on.
